Talked with Chip and Craig. We're planning on getting together this coming Saturday (2/13) at their place to start a new game, hang out, and have fun. We're planning on starting around 1-2pm so show up or log on around that time if you wanna join us.
Also because we know that this game sucks up time like a black hole we're also taking suggestions on what to do for food/dinner in advance. I was thinking of getting some random snack food that we could munch on during the day and then we can either order a pizza or take a break to grab dinner somewhere.

I think I'm free. I may be a little late since I tutor Sat mornings now.
Addendum:
I think we should simply schedule and watch for time when we go and eat. Let's see if we can plan what we do in-game around what we need to do IRL. This gives us a lot more options than we normally do when we're late. And if we do go this route, I vote for something at Milpitas, preferably Malaysian.
No pizza. I absolutely need to cut junk out of my diet right now.
And maybe ideas for an alternate activity after AI Wars. Doesn't need to be gaming related, or at least video gaming related.

Sounds fine by me. Not like I have a tight schedule on the weekend. Dyuman also mentioned that you guys have Chinese New Year to plan around. IMO, you guys should go nuts with that - we have both Valentine's Day and President's Day to run this thing, too. (though we may lose Dyuman on Valentine's Day if we reschedule). As far as alternative activities are concerned, I'm all for some Apples to Apples, Taboo, Bang! or whatever tabletop games we have on-hand, and the PS2 still works, so we can go not so old school on the games there. Though, thanks to my slated return to Namco, I've strongly been considering getting the PS3 slim in celebration... But then I would also need to get a new flatscreen to make up for Craig's flatscreen now serving as his monitor.

Valentine's Day IS Chinese New Year this year, so my Saturday should be free. But yes, there is also Pres Day.

Just so we are on the same page for food, I'm bringing up the fact that we haven't decided on dinner yet.
Some questions for everyone to input on: 1. Are we eating lunch together? 2. If we're eating lunch together, where are we going? 3. Where do we want to go to for dinner?
My personal votes: 1. Yes. 2. I suggest something in the Rivermark. Not Red Robin, but maybe Yan Can, or one of the little restaurants we haven't tried yet. 3. I like Josh's suggestion of Milpitas Chink food. Alternatively, we can go to McCarthy Ranch and one of the nicer restaurants there.

Lunch should be fine, but I may not make it there till 1-ish. I'm down for trying something new if it's for lunch.

In response to Chip:
1. Sure 2. Don't care where we eat 3. That sounds fine
Me and Brian were talking about what kind of game we would play. Here's the suggested map settings we worked out so far:
1. 80 planets, simple map type 2. 7/7 AIs both Sledge Hammer types 3. 1 AI Progression every 30 minutes 4. No minor factions 5. Complex ship types 6. Fast and Furious combat 7. Using beta patch 3.032
One thing I do want to use is the latest beta patch. They've changed some things like adding more range to all ships, making players ships move 40% faster, some good balancing, and other stuff that hasn't made it into the official patch just yet. I've played with it and it seems like an overall improvement. Please comment and add your own input.

Updated in 3.038:
-Previously, the game would crash if it was missing any of the images used by its GDI components. Fixed.
-Previously, if an expansion folder existed, it would treat the expansion as installed. This could lead to problems with the beta for people without the real expansion installed. Fixed so that it now only treats an expansion as installed if the Version.txt file exists inside the expansion folder. (This was the cause of the game crashing on startup in 3.037 for players without the expansion installed.)
