I haven't finished watching even the first match...but I really hope Josh was talking about a different SoCal arcade when he said SoCal players were decent. This is from arcade Infiniti. www.youtube.com/watch?v=xPx2s6AxMXQThat shit is far from good. Dropping like half their combos, random whiff 2HS from Dizzy, random badlands from full screen, random warrants, Sol player getting away with 5K, 2D, bandit revolver 2-3 times in a row (most of the time hitting at some point). The only thing they seem to hit consistently is gattling combos. Dude. Jon combos better and more consistently than these scrubs. Granted, some players had some cool moments, but overall? Pretty bad if this is the best we have to offer in SoCal. EDIT: first video is a bad representation of the rest. The second/third videos are decent. EDIT 2: They have generally good execution. But their general game play is so bad that they should go visit ChrisBenoitYourselfTower. I have absolutely no idea why Sol. Sol, got first place in that Ranbat. Wtfever. Learn2block. So many random ass hits for absolutely no reason mid pressure string.

Actually, I was talking about Arcade Infinity, and the vids I saw were tons better than that. Could be a huge range of skill down there. I'm pretty sure we could take most, if not all of them on though . EDIT - Maybe not all. The later vids have some pretty solid players.

Yeah man. I've seen a few Dogura vids before and his vids are always really cool. RO is just a fucking beast in his hands. I think he's considered one of the better, if not best RO players around.

If they're in the 23 on 23, they're considered one of, if not the best player of their chosen character. Dogura's RK is really damned good... as I remember, he had a decent win streak, probably topped only by Shonen who had 6(!) wins.
EDIT - It looks like they had a vote or some sort of selection process to determine who got to represent their character in the 23 vs 23 as well. And Shonen only had 4 wins, stopping Niga's (I love that name) Slayer, who also had 4 wins. Thing is, Shonen takes out 0, Ka2, and KO1, which takes half of the opposing team's good players. Insane. But even Shonen can lose to Dizzy. That cunt.
Anyhow, the match Brian posted was just an exhibition match. The West won so decisively that they never had to use Dogura or N-Otoko. It also helped that KZO (Order Sol) managed to take out Ogawa and FAB by himself, too. Basically, the good players who didn't make it to the finals in SBO all got revenge on the ones who won. Japanese tourneys are fucking epic.
