Hey. Could use a little help. GG just doesn't quite seem as big as I thought it would be here. Most people seem to be playing tekken 6. HD 3D fighters btw..... fucking gorgeous. I'm even tempted to pick up Tekken 6 even with all my ranting about how gay the game is.... just 'cause of how beautiful it is. Anyways, I haven't had a chance to hit up my usual arcade in Akihabara, which I'm sure there will be some GG action going on (at least I really hope they're still playing there), but I didn't want to go an play there just yet anyways, considering I suck.... and the level of competition there isn't the shabbiest. I'll go back to another of my old haunts in shinjyuku where there used to be some GG, but I some how doubt they'll be big on it. That place was always more KoF than any other machine. Lemme know if there's any places I should hang myself out to dry. Thanks boys.

Tokyo area I assume? Mikado should be a good place to go, though you'd have to look up their current location cause I think they got bought out (new owner) and were planning to move. Otherwise you should look up the addresses of gamechariot or a-cho, I think both are in the Tokyo area.

Thanks mang. A-cho is actually one of the places I used to play before I came back to the states. That was 6 years ago though. I haven't had a chance to make it back. I wound up going to shinjyuku this evening and playing downstairs of a sega club I used to play at. Holy fagtarded nutsack of doom. Actually... that's an exaggeration... but it was fun to say. They were good. I didn't win a game, but I won a couple rounds. You guy's were better than at least a couple of the guys I played..... I think. I was having difficulty playing on the stick a bit. Just a bit though. But enough for me to hesitate. Anyways, it was kinda fun. Met this ranked 3rd strike/ST player from the UK. Gotta look him up to make sure he's legit, but he knew his stuff and was name dropping left and right. Might go out and grab a drink and/or check out mikado with him sometime. Anyways, thanks for the tips.

They actually have 5 on 5 tourney's at the place I was btw. I guess I used to play at all the places that GG was played back in the day. Maybe they just kept it up. No homo.

The feeling I've gotten from Japan is that even though they're generally better as a country, there are just hotspots for certain games and even skill levels. Tekken and KoF are a lot more ubiquitous than GG, but most people who play those games a lot don't even qualify as mammals. Not that I've been there, of course, just an impression that I've gotten from hearing about others' experiences and blogs and shit. But it makes a lot of sense... even if I had an incredibly convenient transportation system, I'd only have certain hangouts because I can't be in so many places at once. I'd imagine that works the same for good players, and they'd be even more likely to gravitate to the same few places in Japan than here, since EVERYONE can make it. But yeah, A-cho and Mikado are the places to be for crazy GG. No homo. How's Japan outside the arcade scene?

Obviously, hanging out with my dad hasn't been condusive to the checking out of GG. But my father has been more than interested to follow me around. Like I said though, I've only found that one place to play, and other than that, I've had pleanty on my agenda while my father was here. He leaves tomorrow. Strangely, seeing all these people play has brought out more interest in me for tradition fighters than GG. I would love to get good at some of the old SF and even perhap some of the 3d fighters more than GG honestly. Not that it matter right now, I won't have the time to commit before I leave to become decent at anything. SF4 I think will herald a new beginning for fighters for me. I'm 100% intent on playing that with a vengeance until I'm not a scrub.
Japan has been fantastic. Tokyo is greater (as I've always felt) than any place you could possibly conceive of in the United States. I can't get enough of this place. I'd love to transfer here for school if I could. I honestly haven't done much with my time here, but it's been very relaxing, following my father around and all. Now that my mother is here and my father is leaving.... I imagine it'll become a much more intense adventure, and when Bryce gets here, I hope the vaginal secretion won't be contained by walls. Hahah. That was a horrific image. I love it. Just mostly joking though. Anyways, that's pretty much a short summary of my emotions on the trip so far. Having a blast. Wish I could talk to you guys more though. Hope everything is well back at home.
