Mini sessions being done separately over AIM, and the forums private message system. This will make thigns go a bit faster when we start up this coming weekend and start the actual module.
Few changes/things going on:
1. I'm going to be passing a lot more notes around to players. If you notice something passively, I will hand you what you notice. If you get controlled and are forced to say something, I'll hand it to you and you have to act it out/say it. This will hopefully add more depth/bring players more into the game (as well as interacting with each other).
Most common use of this will be perception stuff. If I hand you a note saying "you notice a scroll on the table" it is up to the player to share the information if they want. Hopefully this will take away meta-gaming to an extent if I say "Jon you notice a trap" and the others dont realize it.
2. Gonna tweak the Weapon souls a bit. You will be allowed to take back your choice if it changes in a way that you dont want to have it anymore.
3. Did Craigs session with him already.
4. Going to have the "campaign" of the ritual to get your weapon souls done over the forums in PM. This will save time and provide me with individual questions/what happened in your particular ritual.
5. After the ritual you will all go back to rest and will start things off on the next day.
6. Place of play is shifting over to Josh's per my conversation with him before leaving for canada. Primary reason for this is due to a lack of a table at Chip & Craigs that all of us can sit at. Rather than inconvenience them, Josh has one that will be perfect for our purposes. It definately seems to take away a bit if people are spread out all around the room.
Thats all I can think of off the top of my head.

K, I've sent out private messages to the 3 of you that are on the forum. Read it over, come back with responses either in advance or this saturday. If there is something you would do a little differently,
I'll send craig his tomorrow or so.
Change:
Jon - the "re-roll" weapon soul is being tweaks a bit. I'm going to be making it a 3x Daily power to use. As the weapon soul levels up, it will unlock more rolls that are available for you to use for the daily power.
This way you have enough uses of it to be useful, but can't just extend rest them back.
You will be able to re-choose your enchantments at the start of the next session, but after that it's locked in.

Changes/Specifics about the Soul Weapon mechanic, note the rational and description for the changes below them are numbered the same as the change/specific:
Soul Weapon Level = S-level
So some minor details I hashed out:
1. Purpose: The purpose you state for the weapon will have consequences. Example: If I state my soul weapon's purpose is to get me laid by human women, and I use it to try and impress an elf woman, the blade will refuse to be drawn. You saw this happen with Soulforge and Saber, you don't know specifics of his "purpose answer" but you kinda know an example if it going against it's purpose.
I will not allow cop-out answers to the purpose. They have to be relevant to your character's background, or to how you've played your character thus far (both since some people didn't have well set backgrounds till this session). You can force it against it's will to fight, but it will have consequences (they will be up to me dependent on how against it's purpose you go).
2. You have to call out the weapon for 3 separate things: a. To get the +1/s-level bonus to all stat modifiers b. To use any ability of your Soul weapon, you have to call it out. c. To have your weapons glow come forth (1sq/s-level)
2x: This will allow a sense of "trump card" feeling with the soul weapons. My hope is to have it be a component of flavor where Elsington screaming to his soul weapon to manifest in the heat of battle, versus using it for some ambient light, to wanting to hold it back and not show someone your real power.
2a: So this means that to get your +1 to all stat modifiers, you will need to call out your blade. This way if your type isn't usable in combat, you still get a flavor of calling it out in combat and an shock and awe value against weenies.
2b: As was before
2c: Your weapons will now be usable as small light sources that can see 5 feet around you (1 square radius). It's not so much to replace a torch, but you never know. If I give you a glow it damn well better be useful as some form of light. The glow will grow as the soul levels up at 1 square for every level.
A level 6 soul weapon (level 30 player till I find some other form to level the souls up by) will therefore light up 30 feet radius.
3: Weapon transformations will be in.
3: At a S-level 3, your soul weapon will be allowed to transform similar to Broderick's transformation. So this would be at character level 15. Yes, blatant rip off of Bleach, but it seemed that you guys were interested in Broderick's ability to do this. Details on what this will do in terms of dmg and junk will be hashed out later on, but start to think of general ideas.

Changed the topic to make this the general pen and paper thread.
I was toying with the idea of a hero system game where the players are all regular people in the real world (no magic or anything). But make it zombie apocalypse themed. Sounds fun in theory, but would probably play out more like resident evil than silent hill (really hard to give a feel of loneliness in pen and paper me thinks...).
Basically the point would be to survive and escape rather than "save the world". Though the hard part would probably be that gear and items would have to be all over the place since scavenging is a major part of all this.
You would pick a lifestyle/profession. So, if you were a doctor you'd get skills of a doctor, computer programmer, engineer, policeman, pro-wrestler, etc.
Seems like it could be a fun 1-3 shotter. Thoughts?
