4th edition game/D&D/HeroSystem

So I spoke with craig and chip yesterday, and have come to the conclusion that I will be starting a 4th edition game + module.

Got the books today and ordering the module online (level 1-3 module Keep of the Shadowfell)

The hope is to play through the modules they are coming out with (currently they have them set in 3 level intervals up to 17).

Me being new to DM'ing will be a bit hard but I'd like to give it a go nonetheless. Spoke with Craig and tentatively want to plan for a /character building session next saturday (7/26) at craigs place.

If things go well, roughly planning/hoping for Josh to hop in for the level 4 or level 7 module (1-2 mod's after the first one).

Anyone on the forums who would like to give it a try feel free to join (including brian and alvin tho I know it isnt their cup of tea).

Went and got the DM guide and ordered the first two modules (1-3, 4-7).

Jon, would you happen to be available on friday to hang out and help me figure out the mechanics to help make the game go smoother?

Late afternoon/evening is fine (4pm'ish?). I've got quiet a few things I want to do with the game that I want to discuss with you to see if its a good idea or not.

Modules arrived today. I've been reading through the GM guide as much as I can and tomorrow I should be putting together an excel sheet with DC levels of everything for quick reference.

Chip - I'd like to have the players meet at your place if you guys are available on Saturday around 3pm, does that work?

At this point I've literally put 100 bucks into this... so I really don't want this to just be pushed aside and have wasted the money.

K so scheduling wise... looks like the actual game game won't start until Aug 17th. Between Jon getting drugged out, my mom also told me that Jignesh can use some help in LA for a week for some accounting so I may be down there the weekend after next (aug 9 to the following sunday)

Could try to squeeze a game session in on sunday the 17th in the afternoon if people can be free then (would leave LA early morning). If not the module itself will start on the 23rd of Aug.

Time willing I'm going to try and do a quick one shot story starter tomorrow if possible.

Anyone remember when Josh gets back? I think roughly 26th of aug?

I'm busy on the 17th and Josh gets back on the 18th so if you wanna include him you might get to do so from the get go if we're not able to start until mid August.

How much time did you guys want to devote to this? If it's a long term game, you should count me out because 4th ed is amusing, but not something I think I want to commit to.

on and off, the modules dont seem terribly long and I only have 2 atm. We did 1 session of an intro sort of thing from an encounter I made. Most likely will be halfway done or possibly more with next saturday.

Yea, chip not to make you empty your table, but can you make sure we have A table? dont care which one or anything. Just much easier to sit at table than on floor

Also remember - You guys are level 2 so think of abilities and junk, I will let you respec and take up the new abilities if you want before the module starts.
