On second thought. I think I'll play Balrog in SF4. Didn't realize TAP had free hyper armor (seems like invincibility some times) AND its super cancelable? Wtf. Weird that low dash punch has so much start up, but straight dash is like...really good. Good range, speed, and doesn't seem to miss on crouch anymore. And hit confirming into his super is CVS2 short short super good (but slightly harder, no homo). Does 517 damage, though I'm not sure how much his normal game play requires EX moves. I don't think EX FCs are that great for him? Outside of random pressure and mix ups where he shouldn't be able to continue attacking. I don't think he has any good damage potential off EX FCs?
Eh...the cr.lp, cr.mp link is really annoying.
EDIT: 1 frame command throws should not be 1 frame in a game where most moves have 2-3 active frames (and most of your start up frames are considered grounded). I constantly get command thrown out of shoryukens (and normals, but more annoyingly shoryukens). In fact, I think the only way to actually get out of a well time command throw on my wake up is to reversal dragon punch (I've tried just holding up to jump). And by thrown out of shoryuken, I mean I see the start up of the shoryuken and I get command thrown out of it.

I have seen Rog link off some EX dash punches before but I don't know how that works specifically. Rog is developing into a hit confirming maniac who is capable of doing really good damage.
M.Bison is unfair against scrubs who don't know what they're doing, especially all the shotos being played. EX Head Stomp is free damage on them on wakeup. I cannot explain this move at all. I just throw the motion out and watch it hit. It beats so much stuff it's ridiculous.
Played against one guy who was okay with Rufus. Problem was that he threw out low moves predictably and I just went right over them with scissors. Most of the people online are just kinda blah.
The funny thing is that during Arcade mode matches, when I allowed people to challenge me, the lag was nonexistent. As long as I get 3+ bars on the match, the connection is quite good. THANK GOD. J.mpx2 into Ultra gets people to d/c, as do any finishers involving me cancelling scissors into super for "style". Gonna make it my goal to piss someone off into sending me hate mail, but I'm not sure I can do it if I do actual combos. It's not as easy to piss someone off as it is in ST because you can tick them to death, whereas in this game it's not possible to do that.
Maybe I should learn El Fuerte for this reason.
Tried out some FADC combos. Not as hard as I thought, not easy for me on Jap sticks though. I need practice on that. Also tried Rose for a little in training mode. She seems interesting, and has some good super combos, but I'm not sure I wanna burn all the bar for it. I haven't gotten around to unlocking anyone else because Challenge mode distracted me for a long while. There are some combo trials for players, and this is a feature that I loved from the EX series on console. While the game itself was poo, the idea was good because the higher level challenges show you some hilarious links (like Ryu has a challenge where you must do j.hp, c.mp, c.mp, SWEEP).

Btw, changing the language makes the intro song a lot more bearable. The style of the song just lends itself better to Japanese.

I don't think you can change the language on the 360...

There's a surprising amount of juggle-able moves in this game (no homo), but more interestingly, normal attacks/specials can't utilize the juggles. It seems like the juggle state was coded to only apply to EX, supers/ultras and command moves (looking at the case of Sagat juggling with f+rh). For example, off of an early anti air jab SRK (Ryu) you can actually land a super off the juggle, but not a regular fireball or hurricane kick. Or (easier to test) if you look at most srk EX FC x dash, special move. The special move only hits if its EX'd or a command move (Sagat's f+rh, more like command normal). This is pretty easy to see if you try it with Sagat.

The language change option should be under your sound settings. If it's not there, then I feel bad for XBox 360 users, because I heard the English voices in the game and they just sound... wrong. I'm way too used to the Engrish.
Btw, our boards are better than the GameFAQs boards. They are proof that having an opinion is a privilege, not a right.

Hmm...so you can juggle w/ regular tiger knee (this move is really ridiculous) where tiger uppercuts whiff. So...I guess its move dependent? I'm pretty sure it doesn't have to do with the hit boxes of the moves.
Sagat -jab srk x EXFC dash, tiger knee
EDIT: Why is it that EVERYONE online plays Ken? (all but 1 game was against Ken) Trying to be like Daigo?

Just a note if you try to unlock Akuma. The REAL requirements to unlock him are: -unlock Cammy, Sakura, Dan, Gen, Fei Long, and Rose -play through arcade mode (any difficulty) with 3 more conditions 1) use no continues 2) get at least 2 perfect wins 3) get exactly 2 ultra finishers (finish a round w/ an ultra)
Random stuff about Ken. His overhead (back+medium kick) can't be linked into anything (shitty). On hit its at -2. At first I thought since the game seems to be built off the 3s engine, you could potentially get enough frames off a crouching opponent and counter hit (previously it took 2 more frames to recover from crouch and CH gave +1-3 frames, but it doesn't seem like both carried over).
Kara cancels in this game are mentally retarded. Not only is the input timing really lenient, but I constantly ACCIDENTLY kara cancel stuff. For a really easy to do kara, do Sagat's f+lk and kara that into a tiger knee to go 3/4 screen. The input timing is really just doing the 2 moves in succession (no fancy piano'ing of buttons). Don't even try to kara cancel it, you'll probably end up doing the tiger knee too early if you do. As long as you input the tiger knee before the active frames come out on the f+lk, it gets kara'd pretty consistently.
I'm pretty sure this is the case with Ken's kara throw (though I haven't tried it). If Ken's kara throw does work similarly, then he gets ST like throw range off a kara throw which takes next to no effort.

So yeah, I've noticed that EVERYONE and their mother is playing shoto on LIVE servers, probably has something to do with SF HD Remix Trial/Demo...

So Sagat's kara cancels are hilarious. His f+lk kara hk tiger knee goes full screen. The lk tiger knee goes ~3/4 screen. You can also kara f+lk into tiger uppercut, the range is pretty amazing. Also being able to move over a full character length while throwing fireballs makes knee bazooka look so bad. No clue why you'd want to move that far forward while throwing fireballs, though.
I think they changed the charge time? It seems like it takes more than 1.5-2 seconds to charge a sonic boom/dash punch.

I have had to slow down some links for Bison to get crossup charge times, so it's not just Guile.
I really ought to try the Sagat karas. The thought crossed my mind initially to use f+lk for throws, but I haven't been focused on Sagat nearly as much as I intended before the game came out. On my player records, I have used Dan almost as much as Sagat.
Incidentally, Dan does not suck outright. I have heard the Prima guide putting Dan at the lowest tier, but this isn't true. Dan does a good amount of damage, has crossups, and has a working uppercut unlike CvS2. It does trade more than I want it to, but I haven't had it stuffed outright. It's like Sagat's HDR Tiger Uppercut, just a diet version. From outside sweep range, you can bait mashers into throwing out a whiffed sweep and smack them with Gadokens for a bit of damage, or throw out the Gale Kick to beat them into the corner. His FA also has decent range, so it's an excuse to connect an Ultra.
When I go home tonight I'm gonna see if it's possible to FADC the uppercut into Ultra. If it is, I'm gonna make Dan my secondary character for a while, because I've induced a few ragequits by hitting Dan's Ultra.
The more I play Ryu, the more I think he's fucked up. It's been a long while since I've seen such a powerful Ryu. I look forward to seeing Valle and Choi at Evo this year.
Vega isn't as bad as I thought he'd be. He's low tier, but certainly viable. People don't know how to deal with him online at all, actually. Perhaps we should all convince people he's high tier.
Beware of people who mash 360's with Gief. It's a tactic that works better than it ought to. I actually lost to this because I got lazy in between links, and didn't realize Bison's Scissor Kick was grounded for such a long time where he could be thrown out of it. Make sure your own sense of timing is better than the masher here so you don't take unnecessary losses like I did (I ended up using mediums for meaties to solve this problem and beat the masher out). Don't challenge the lariat unless you know what you're doing. That thing has demented priority. Finally, if you see the EX running grab, know that it has super armor! I threw Bison Ultra at it when I saw it coming, and nearly had a heart attack when I saw the Super Armor... fortunately, the Ultra was fast enough to kick him out of it with another hit and finish him off.

All I have to say is don't play this game with a D-pad, especially the 360 D-Pad...
I have EXECUTED, not landed EXECUTED, a total of 2 Ultras. and close to the same amount of supers.

Haha, that's why I didn't bother with the Gamestop tourney. Come over some time and use a stick. You'll feel better about yourself. The good thing is that you don't need Supers or Ultras to kill scrubs.
Although come to think of it, don't you have all three punches or all three kicks mapped to a single button on dpad?

Continuing off Brian's Teleport Shenanigan fears on this thread...
Ever notice how no matter how much someone is in the corner, it's possible to jump over them and cross them up? This isn't just my imagination, right?

No its not. There is NO point where you can't be crossed up in the corner.
