Couldn't decide what to do so I flipped a coin and went Luxon. Disregard what I said earlier. I'll probably end up going back and maxing both factions at a later date.

The reason why guilds arrange themselves between Kurzick or Luxon is for faction points. I think the way it works is that each person contributes their amount of faction on either side to the guild, and the combined total of the guild contributes to the alliance. It seems that conflicting amounts of points will mitigate each other, however, which basically forces people of a guild/alliance to pick one side or the other. In PvP, guilds/alliances are pitted against each other in certain scenarios based on this faction as well.
On a whole other note: each game has two quests that give you attribute points. However, Prophecies' second attribute quest seemingly occurs AFTER Ascension. Someone please tell me I'm reading that wrong.
Nightfall's equivalent to Ascension/Weh no Su seems to be the most easily achieved, as it basically the very first quest given once the player arrives on Kourna, and is a process far less painful than Weh no Su in Factions.
That said, it's not like it's buttfucking impossible on any of the games to get to that point. We can get scrolls to teleport to other realms while the world has the favor of the gods. I wouldn't mind taking that trek just to explore. Costs a plat for the scroll.

Another thing to keep in mind when choosing is that faction points are account based. You may accumulate both Kurzick and Luxon points, but spending points from either side deducts an equal amount of points from the other.
Ex: You have 10k Luxon and Kurzick points. You spend 5k on Kurzick side to buy an amber. You will now have 5k Luxon and 5k Kurzick.
I know that it isn't as important for us because we're not building a serious guild, but it would still be convenient for us to all be on the same side for farming purposes. Faction points are spent to either buy stuff for your character or donated to the guild/alliance so these entities get access to npcs/stuff. Buy spending faction points you also raise your maximum point cap to a limit of 70k. Faction skills are based off of your rank like how Nightfall skills are based off of sunspear rank.

Tentatively, I need a hand with the Nahpui Quarter mission (the one where Master Togo and Mhenlo are with you at the temple and you get zerged with Afflicted) with my Mesmer. Togo's party is seemingly gimped unless players are present, so I get a bit overwhelmed in that mission. I have a Necro Hero, but he's being a dick and spreading everything out way too thin. That sounded very homo. Anyhow, I'm trying to get to the capture for Arcane Languor, which is why I need help running this. No real rush, though, since Echo is my next priority here, and I'm 2 zones away from it.
Otherwise, I need to run the Prophecies mainland quests (incidentally, Craig will probably want help to get Ascension) far enough for both my Necro and Mesmer to get Spiteful Spirit.
Lemme know if/when anyone is interested in making these runs. I know the Prophecies captures will be huge for a lot of us.

Been spending a lot of time building my elementalist. Currently I'm on the Ascension quest in Prophecy and will hopefully be done with that bs by the end of today. I've just reached Vabbi in Nightfall and I'm starting to gather the elite skills found there. Couldn't decide which side to go in Factions so I ended up flipping a coin and went with Luxon. Progressing along that quest line for now. If you can catch me when I'm on, I'm free to help you with whatever quest you need.

I'm more or less free to help anytime I'm on. Incidently, my summer school class is at 8 am (ugh), so I'm typically on earlier in the day (and not late at night), take a break around 4-5 to study and eat, and maybe play a little after.
Sadly I'm really leaning towards maining my Assassin which doesn't need prophecies, but I'll drag my warrior to prophecies cause there's like good warrior stuff there. My necro is gonna be put on the back burner (no homo), might try to level my ranger here and there, but for the most part I'm gonna be gathering stuff for the rest of my 15k armor (hella Jade Arena) and maybe doing some primary quests in Nightfall.

Ok, some updates:
We should try to beat Nightfall soon. It gets us Hard mode, and some nice farming spots as a result. One more push from Vabbi and we should be able to make it all the way to Abbadon.
If everyone can make it to the Chantry of Secrets in Nightfall (which is just in Vabbi), we can go to the Underworld (UW). UW is kinda like raiding, but less butseks. We can do portions of it at a time, or make it a half-day event to go through it all at once to open a special chest at the end. I dunno what the treasure is like, but.. yeah.
UW is good for finding globs of ectoplasm, a crafting material. Each one on its own can sell for a few platinum, or be kept to make Obsidian elite armor. It's actually kind of fun as well, if you know wtf to do.
Lastly.. anyone without their max armor (not elite.. just the 1 plat costing one) on all pieces, lemme know, so I can fix that and our aggro will be a little more normal.

Those of us interested in crafting obsidian armor should also look at doing Fissure of Woe (FoW). Supposedly that's the only way to get obsidian shards aside from buying them off other players. Globs of ectoplasm also drop there, but I guess it's easier to get them from Underworld (UW) or something. Also chests at the end of both are hella cool. We wanna open them or something.

Chests at the end of very high-end areas basically give you a gold item and lots of money. The good news is that you don't need to grind through UW to get goodies.
In Nightfall, there are some special treasure sites that include, but are not limited to, chests which you can open without a key or lockpick. Approximately once every 1-2 months on a per character basis, you can visit these chests, open them, and get around 3 plat and a gold item. Of course, you usually have to kill a big pile of mobs, but even if you die, you rez, go back, and finish them off. There's one in the Desolation, which I forget the precise location of, and one in Nightfallen Jahai. Seeing the message, "You get 3 platinum, xxx gold." is a very nice feeling.
EDIT - There's a Graven Monolith temple in the SW portion of the Sulfurous Wastes. That's where the chest is. There are probably around 20 Graven Monoliths in your way... which is a problem only if you go in non-wurm form. Otherwise, there's free loot to be had.

Decided to buy skills yesterday. Got all skills for PVP characters including elites, and get all regular skills off any trainer found within that game (no searching for trainers). A bit disappointed that regular trainers don't just hand me elite spells in roleplay, tomes let me choose from all, but otherwise have to capture.
convenient at least.

Anyone know how Paragons are supposed to do the Norn fighting tournament? I kinda want to get finish him, but uhh..I don't know if I can do the tournament. I think I'd have to play like a gimped Warrior? or maybe a Dervish. I'm mostly concerned how I'd do damage, and whether or not I'd be able sustain my energy during the fights.
EDIT: Forgot to mention, I think I'd go Dervish secondary. And maybe try to use zealous vow to maintain energy, but the big problem is how I'd do my damage. I think I can heal like I did on my Dervish (Mystic regeneration) and survive Magni by using shield of force. But I don't get runes for +1 wind/earth prayer nor do I get free heals from enchants constantly wearing off.
