Since I had WC3 installed on my laptop. I started watching some old replays I had. This proved way more amusing than I thought it would. Most of the games I have saved are from Frozen Throne b/c I didn't use auto save for replays until Frozen Throne came out. Most of the games are pretty standard (for the time), but there are some that are...pretty sadistic for 13 year old kids. Unfortunately most of you don't have thumb throne (most of the hilarious games I played were in the expansion; read: we humiliated them with what should be a useless strategy). I uploaded some to rapidshare if anyone wants to watch some stupidity. A couple Reign of Chaos (reg WC3) and a bunch of hilarious frozen throne games. You have to revert versions to watch the replays. There is a program that should work called "ever-craft," but I would suggest just reinstalling cause its just one more crappy program on your computer. Unfortunately, the orig WC3 didn't save chat in replays, cause one of the games I totally switched builds on this dude when he scouted my lame build. Keep in mind, this guy claimed to be one of the best human players on US West (he wasn't that good), and I played off race in this game (I was mainly a human player). He had around a 67% win rate with human and played ~500 games played. I was floating a 90% win rate with ~300 games played. In the Frozen throne replays, chat is saved. I don't think theres a single pair that we beat that actually said "gg." I think we only lost 1 game using our "siege cheese" strategy. It really shouldn't work, but I think it was really just inspired by Boxer's dropship play (the replay on wheel of war? or something was the first time we actually tried it in an actual game, and shows the cheese in all its glory. Not all maps were good for the harass, so we just played more standard...kinda). rapidshare.com/files/197019819/wc3_reps.zipRoC version 1.05, FT version 1.12. Just type warcraft 3 ftp into google, and you should be able to find the patch on the blizzard ftp.

Street Fighter 4 tournament with decent prizes at participating GameStop's on Feb 20-something.
I assume Jon or Josh could go win something.

Phantasy Star Portable is out for the PSP now and Monster Hunter Freedom Unite is supposedly coming out sometime in Q2. Is there anyone other than me and Alvin who is interested in playing either game? I think it'd be cool if we could get 4 of us together for ad-hoc.

Hey hey hey I've got a PSP for my birthday last month!!! I've been looking for a game to play (the ones I have are crap or I've played them on another platform)
Does Ad-hok include online? or is this something I'd have to set some time aside for?

Cool. Hurray for those of us with working PSPs. Anyways, to answer your question there is a way to do ad-hoc online, but in general it'd be easier for us to just get together irl and ad-hoc it. Below are the 2 known methods of doing ad-hoc online.
The first is Sony's official online system. They've been developing and recently launched a system where you can use your PS3 to connect with other gamers to play certain ad-hoc games online. Since you don't have a PS3 this doesn't work for you.
The second method is uses a free 3rd party program xlink kai to connect through your computer or linux friendly console to the internet and other gamers. This is the route you'd probably have to take. Cool part about this one is that you can connect to hella different peole. This is also a con depending on who you connect with.
For the 2 games I mentioned, I know that Monster Hunter will be able to use both of the above methods, but so far PS:P is only xlink kai friendly.

I'd be up for either game, I've played Phantasy Star Online before, it was cool... didn't play online though. anyway, let me know if/when/how odds are I'd have like 2 hours on the weekend, random days mostly saturday. I'd probably suggest not playing with me though as my schedule is pretty rigid and small...

diablo2.diablowiki.net/Pandemonium_EventEDIT: We can do this on open battle.net (using locally stored characters). I hope we can dupe keys via the trainers, cause the drop rate isn't 100% and we need 3 of each; 1 from Mistress in the Black Tower, 1 from Summoner in Arcane Sanctuary, and 1 from Nilthalek sp? in Halls of Faggotry. Oddly enough, I can't connect to US West battlenet, but I can connect to US East battlenet.

Bah...scratch the pandemonium event. I went and got 3 keys (1 of each) and the transmute doesn't work on open battle.net. I did some more reading on other sites, and they say its closed battle.net only. Weird that the keys drop in open battle.net but you can't use them. EDIT: Class specific runewords. classic.battle.net/diablo2exp/items/runewords-111.shtml

Random D2 shit I figured out cause I was bored yesterday between classes.
1. Lightning sorcs do absurd amounts of damage. Mine hits 33k off regular lightning, ~12-13k off chain lightning. The craziest part of this is the damage is NOT capped. Meaning as I level up to 99, it only gets bigger b/c there's synergy (good synergy, not lightning fury synergy, 1%) off of -3- skills AND there's lightning mastery. Thunder storm sucks anus, does ~3500 top end w/ +23 skills.
2. Poison necros are not a complete joke. Poison explosion. Yes that's right, poison explosion, does ~77-78k damage. All for 8 mana. Too bad you have to sink so many points into synergy that you can't get a half decent bone spirit, curses, or golem.
3. Hydra can do ~ 4k per shot w/ good gear. WTF
